My love takes the form of a placebo, no stronger drug will take it's place
Although not perfected but selected not to leave a harmful trace
This placebo that I've chosen isn't wasted with mindless or idle chase
Instead it fully does uncover my ailments scornfull & wretched face
Unmasking the foe and strengthening the whole, that's the power that it's given
Keep in mind it's a placebo not an enhancing or corrective formula
Simply a mirror with the enchantment that allows me to see my value and not judgement or disgrace
The chemical solution masks the problem with side-effects in it's place
Yes it covers all my needs but leaves void my inner-being
No Strong drug will numb my spirit, No vague chemical will I allow
I've always had the answer I just couldn't see it because I had lost the key somehow
Once I unlocked my soul I found it had been burried and partialy sold
It's always been right here within my reach, my very own choices are what expand and teach
My very real heart pounds at the thought of the freedom I might reach
I'm a lover of words, the emotions and memories that those words stir and release within the reader. I aspire to inspire people with my words, photos and other creative works.
