Love or Obsession

Is there any difference between love and obsession?

It's a fine line between ecstasy and pain...each a vital sensation

Rapture leads to our inevitable torment... reccuring but never fatal inner destruction

Observe the beginning of the courting ritual... no different today than yesterday or tomorrow

As the dawn appears the creature seeks a compatible mate, attractive, virile, robust, able to dominate

Clearly the game is the thrill of the chase, unwinding the victim in a dizzying pace

Off balance and captured she surrenders into his gaze

Survival prevents him from monotony...tedium...instinctually we ache to procreate

Like beasts in the twilight hours we find it impossible to find clarity...shadows hide reality

Upright evolved capable and knowing...we seek to complete the circle of longing

Spirit or soul vessel for our hearts, beckoning...guiding us... to the edge of sanity

Discomfort and fear hinder our understanding...internally we sense our final descent.

By plan or mere chance lives are touched...ultimately altered...the stars in the heavens,

The grains of sand on the beaches too numerous to mention like the hearts that are broken

Yet we venture again and again to this place,

The place where it all happened, after all the pleasure far exceeds the tumultuous agony

For a fortunate few, truth and love are united in an eternal bond never to be severed only to be heightened
